Hello!

One of my earliest memories is of sitting on the floor of my father’s art studio with a stack of paper and markers. While he perched at his drawing table above me, I surrounded myself with my own sketches. I drew the familiar things I saw around me as well as the stories and inventions that tumbled out of my imagination. Even as an adult, I still prefer working on the floor. I decided to study Illustration at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, just two hours from where I’d grown up. The summer after I graduated, I made the move from the swampy south to the blustery shores of Lake Erie and began working as a greeting card artist.

I love artwork that hides a surprise or hints at a story – a little twist that rewards the viewer for taking the time to really look. Whether folk tales from across the world or anecdotes shared around a campfire, stories spark my imagination and play a key role in much of my work. I'm inspired by the natural world, and enjoy spending my free time wandering nature trails, kayaking, or just looking at bugs with my kiddos. Outside of my day job, I delight in drawing patterns, circus folk, and anything with wings.
